Stroboscope For my final project I plan to create a three-dimensional piece inspired by stroboscopic motion photography. The piece will consist of twelve images connected and radiating from a center point, similar to the moving hands of a clock. Each of the twelve sections will be an individual stroboscopic picture of my body in motion, together suggesting the passage of time. The body will be cut out of the page to create an organic shape, each section connected at the center point but differing in shape and length. The final product will be an abstracted, vaguely cylindrical shape. I'm hoping to print on a sturdy paper that will hold its shape when standing.
Excellent process here Kayla. On the top version seems like a nice underpainting for trying something like you did on the bottom one with a blending mode. Something metaphorical on top. Iconic and symbolic suggestions might be wings, clouds, sunsets sunrises, Open flames. My attempt is to hopefully make the figures a bit more enigmatic in that what they're doing and wearing seems to be fairly mundane. I might try increasing the size on a few of those just to create a sense of hierarchy as well. The background doesn't really do much for the space except separate it from the figures.
